Well my first question is - did you get explicit approval from CJ and the merchant you're driving traffic to, to deliver ads via popups and client-side software?

If you didn't, then all bets are off as CJ has VERY strict policies regarding this stuff and if you don't go through proper channels, they WILL shut you down... so maybe that's part of it.

I would also talk to the traffic source.

What I don't understand is how you have more clicks than impressions? You shouldn't usually have more than 1 click per impression at most. Something isn't right here but I don't know what from your comment...

1st day on cj
1500 clicks
939 impressions
4 sales 424% profit that day

2nd day
1500 clicks
46 impressions
1 sale 10% loss that day

3rd day
1500 clicks
7 impressions
0 sales 100% loss that day

4th / 7th day 0 sales
on an average
less then 10 impressions per day

I'm writing everyone concerned to get somefeed back
from MT, CJ, VOM...
I should get feedback tomorrow

my conclusion is that somethings up
how is it possible to go from
939 impressions to 7 in 3 days...

people are simply setting up
there browsers / firewalls / popup blockers
to block the adds .....
so unless you set up an iframe and
change your landing pages address everyday
I don't see how to get around this...

I'm sure you aren't allowed to answer my question directly
so I guess I'm just blowing hot air....

Hey everyone... finally catching up on blog comments!

realwor- You certainly can create nice graphics, but no it's absolutely not required. You don't *need* large money but of course like anything, the more funded you are, the more testing you can comfortably conduct and the faster you can move things forward. Most critical skill in my opinion is that of being able to fail and move on fast. I know I know we've probably all heard "fail forward fast" before, but it's so true!!!!

Ash - Yes, it involves Adware traffic but it's not as simple as signing up with Zango and running traffic. As for ethics... that's all in how you use it and in how the network behaves. If their software is genuinely opt-in and can be removed by the user, then I don't see anything that's the least bit unethical about it.

Joseph - like any traffic source there's no way to guarantee a particular margin. Personally I've been seeing a 200% to 400% ROI on the hits, but remember there are misses too... Minimum cost is as little as you want to spend. But many of the traffic sources require a minimum deposit, like $200 or $500 to start.

Meister - It's not that CPA is not appropriate, I just happened to make something work with sales rather than leads. I'm still testing CPA leads too (not as much as I need to be) but as yet haven't found anything that worked well enough to pursue. I've been experimenting with both landing pages and iFrames depending on the promotion, as some merchants won't allow frames. I hit on winners early on with PPV, I think I tested 4 fails before I had several hits in a row. I think I was running like 8 or 9 campaigns to hit $1k/day, when I had everything turned on full blast.

thatmartin - Ethics are relative. What's unethical about someone opting into an advertising-sponsored free service, and then being presented with ads? Nothing, in my book. Any traffic can get you banned from CPA netwrks, depending on what you're doing with it. If you are open with the networks about what you're doing, you can get them to allow the traffic, no problem. Many people believe you *will* be banned from xyz network for using this traffic, but that isn't always true. It depends on who you get permission from. I am using at least 1 network that everyone says WILL ban me for it, and yet I have their explicit approval to use it, provided I follow a few simple rules.

1. this traffic is considered unethical by many
2. this traffic can get you banned from CPA networks
3. this traffic will get you banned from some major networks (SS is one of them), they even pay 3rd party companies to identify affiliates sending this traffic

Certainly not a long term business model to rely on :(

Hey Jonathan,
Great stuff man! Just a few questions for you though about you hitting the $1K per day mark.

-What would you estimate your ROI? I mean several guys I have seen lately in the PPC game, talk about making $3-5K per day, but they are spending $7-9K per day to hit a net profit of $3-5K.

-How many PPV campaigns do you run? How many offers? Just a guestimate if you could...I mean are you running 100+ campaigns or something more manageable like 20 or so campaigns?

Thanks Jonathan, looking forward to your response.

What networks are people here using for PPV? I'm on 3 right now but always looking to expand.

One thing I can say about PPV, I love the simplicity of it!

Hi Clutey,

Thought I'd catch up and see how you're doing...no surprises, still knee-deep in these high octane 'get in while the money is there for three months before it gets saturated' markets ;-)

You look like you're having fun and pulling in $$$ - cool! Keep on keeping on mate.

Congrats on the 1K per day - thought it would have come from PPCF not PPVF :D

I know what PPV is since I am a PPCF member. My comment / question would be why CJ and PPS stuff is PPV not suitable for CPA offers or are you using LPGen for the relevant iframed CPS offers from CJ? and how many offers for 1K a day?

Thanks - and good luck :)

Hi Jonathon,

Sounds awesome, can you tell us what the cost vs profit spread is? 1:2, 1:3 or more? Also, what is the minimum cost to get started using this method?

Cheers
