Tonight’s post is to share some more real world results that a user, Ben from www.ben-tan.sg, just sent me, and to comment about something that was in yesterday’s post’s comments, about LPGen getting “banned” by Google. Enjoy!

Content does not have to be hidden. That is entirely optional, and if one is not comfortable with it, then one doesn’t have to do it. Simple solution, and no potential banning!
My point is, that LPGen itself is not what can be banned. One can create hidden content in Notepad, but does that mean Google will ban pages created with Notepad? Of course not. Unless they ban HTML…
Don’t listen to the nay’ sayers, there just jealous because they didn’t think of it first. Q: You can use LPGen as a stand alone, right? If you don’t have SPPC, can this tool be just as effective?

Think of it first? Right, there are already FREE tools out there that let you do what lpgen.com does and more. (Note that these aren’t specifically built for LPs but they can easily be adapted to it).
Wesley is absolutely right, and I’ve said so many times too. There are many tools available that will, at the end of the day, generate dynamic content. Chief among them is the portal builder RSSGM (Google it, you’ll find it). However RSSGM is more for hacker types who are comfortable tweaking scripts & uploading pages and things like that. It’s also open source which means it may or may not be supported into the future, and if you run into trouble you certainly can’t run to the developer for immediate help. Don’t underestimate how much that’s worth, when your campaigns hang in the balance.
I have said again and again, that I didn’t invent the things that LPGen does. I took existing concepts and refined them, made them much more user friendly, and listened to feedback from the actual end users who are in the trenches with this stuff. I’m not just making something because I think it’s cool, I’m making what people specifically say they need, and listening to how they would want it to work.
LPGen itself will do what it does regardless of what else you use it with. However, if you want to create loads of tightly themed adgroups for your adwords campaigns fast, SpeedPPC is definitely the way to go.
Remember, people have been doing ALL of this stuff for years without these tools - it was just a lot more work. So yes you can do everything you need to do with one, some, or none of these tools. The amount of effort required, will just change accordingly.
Personally, I dig SpeedPPC. It’s such a simple concept, but works so nicely…

Speed PPC is cool. But I personally think it is tooo expensive at this point in time. I own it too, but at $497 a pop, it might be rather inaccessible to the masses.
Some of us don’t have your experience or interest to spend time on creating our own tools. I have used Magic Builder, RSSGM and other similar tools and frankly, I would prefer Jonathan’s LPGEN at this point in time. When many of us were struggling with the predecessor to Magic Builder, it was Jonathan who provided the instructions and system to easily solve our problems. His support and well detailed system allowed us to exponentially increase our work with those tools and NO one else offered the same level of creative support.
Wesley, be positive and smile today! When you have something to contribute that will help us with our use of LPGEN…, please do.
Wesley is right about how quickly SpeedPPC could be replicated by a capable coder… I haven’t bothered because I already have SpeedPPC and it does what I need it to do.
He’s also right about LPGen not being a totally original idea. It’s NOT! But neither were the ideas of every automaker after Ford, etc. I merely refined a bunch of existing component ideas. If you’re a developer yourself and enjoy the process, then by all means make your own tools! You will learn far more, and have way greater control, than by using off the shelf tools. But, if you don’t have the time, abilities, or interest… then don’t re-create the wheel. I use custom tools for some things, and stock tools for other things. It’s all personal preference.
So anyway, Wesley’s comments are welcome, I don’t mind one bit. Makes things more interesting!
I ask about SPPC because from what I’ve seen, the real advantage of SPPC is the datafeed component. As for tightly focused adgroups, Google’s own Adwords Editor can tightly group keywords and then it’s just a matter of tracking, which I use Keyword Radar for that. Thanks for answering my questions.
I watched the video and yes, it looks like he improved his amount of clicks and reduced his cpc, but doing the math, am I right or wrong, was he still just breaking even with his cpc and his gross profits?
Well having spoken to Ben a number of times now, I am pretty confident that he’s not just breaking even. He’s been posting on this blog though so maybe he can chime in and keep us updated on his progress. I’d sure love that myself! So… Ben?
Well, I forgot to state that those number of clicks were waaay over-inflated. I think if you do up a new campaign on Google, the google bot has a tendency of going thru every single keyword.
Somehow on Hydra, this gets recorded as a ‘click’. For those campaigns, I was seeing a 1-1.x spend/profit ratio - or 50%+ Gross Margins.

You can easily be banned since the content is hidden from the user’s view.

Sounds like wesley won’t be an LPGen user - always something for FREE! Jonathan, can LPGen be just as effective without the use of SPPC?

I have my own tool, and it’s not ALOT more work.. It’s actually all automated.
Speed PPC is something that any programmer could make in a few hours max, so maybe you could rent a coder
